i can't believe it's not butter!

mad crazy in love with this skirt!!!

debts, but no regrets.

i own a credit card. plain and simply this is the most dangerous thing i have ever owned. i am stuck in a mountain of debt and im finding it hard to make my way out :( but despite this i don't regret the reasons as to why i happen to be stuck with this debt.

due to this unfortunate situation i am obliged to put my little lost laundry on hold for a month or so while i work off the weight on my shoulders. DON'T WORRY THOUGH i am still contributing to my store little by little and there will still be opportunities to win giveaways and prizes!!

on a brighter note to market, to market, i'm going to market!! yes, hopefully in early september i will be bringing all my wonderful finds to the Bondi markets with a friend who makes fascinators. we will be sharing a stall and selling our wonderful stuff, just in time for spring too! stay tuned for confirmed dates and times! i have been working on all these adorable denim cut off shorts with a cheeky little ruffled behind. i have cut up some best of quality high waisted jeans and used my trusty little sewing machine to add adorable ruffles along the bum with vintage fabrics. these will all be ready for the markets just in time for spring! hopefully i will have a range of 20 or more of all different denims, fabrics and sizes to suit any derrier!!

i have recently joined cult fashion website lookbook.nu which is exciting cuz it means i can express myself with a bit of vintage style and hopefully expand my clientelle base. almost everything i wear in lookbook.nu will be avaliable for purchase in The Lost Laundry!! i absolutely love this site. it's a place where those fashion savvy souls can come together and share what they're about. gee there are some talented fashionistas out there!! it's a little dangerous because i spend way too much time browsing these pages :D

i'd love to feel your support with some hyping love :)

i'm sorry i've failed at blogging consistantly. it's just hard to find the time when you work a full time job and are trying to launch a small business. but i promise i'll be documenting much more of my progress along the way :)

therefore i will love you and leave you with a few pics of my 'something cheeky' little frilly denim shorts

p.s focusing on paying off my dredit card means i can eventually work less and devote most of my time to The Lost Laundry and try to bring you beautiful people the best of my vintage world!! stay tuned :D

craftnapped.

today i was literally kidnapped by craft. i was happily moseying along, doing my thing, when all of a sudden !!!BAM!!! a crazy craft attack cam and bowled me down. so how did this happen? i hear you ask. well, it goes like this..

i had just finished measuring the items i posted in store tonight (photos below) and i took a quick break in my day to have a quick read of the latest vogue. here i came across an article about a lady who makes basically everything from teddy bears to furniture upholstery, and does it on a budget. myself and this lady (Kelly Doust, author of bestseller DIY book The Crafty Minx, check out her blog the crafty minx) had two things in common. we both were on a budget and we both like to make things. so considering myself a bit of a Suzie homemaker and on an inspiration high i decided to turn the house upside-down in search of suitable materials.

I tend to alter the hemline on a lot of the vintage pieces i sell online so they are slightly more wearable and fit more comfortably into our modern perception on fashion. due to this i have ALOT of spare material floating around the house including chiffon, denim and luxe cotton. i decided to try and construct an envelope pencil casey type thingy out of different materials that could be used as anything from a makeup case to a clutch.
so off i went armed with chalk, pins, a sewing machine and a tape measure. determined to make something from scratch AND with vintage recycled fabrics...

5 hours, 4 attempts, 2 cups of coffee and 1 pin in Christians foot later, this is what i came up with..

... a couple of somewhat acceptable envelope bag thingy's that still needs a button or something to finish them off..

but the point i had fun doing it! even if it took all day. and with each one i made i got a little better. so i got to thinking, if i get good enough, these little vintage recycled goodies could perhaps go into my store! if not then they might make good gifts. i know that i much prefer something handmade and vintage! at least id be doing something with all the fabric that is stuffed into every possible space in my house and almost forgotten about!

so i chucked this on just before i went out to get my morning coffee from Sparrow, an adorable cafe that is just around the corner form me. plus this was before i dived headfirst into craft mania and didn't realise i wouldn't leave the house again today..

(blazer: vintage Country Road. jumper: vintage. scarf: H&M. ring: Diva. tights: Joy. boots: OFFICE)

there are some new brill vintage dresses that i listed in The Lost Laundry tonight so please please make sure you take a peek! these babes are some that you just can't miss out on!! (velvet included!!)

my place is a MESS! time to reorganize after my exploded craft bomb!
till next time..

cheap thrills.

i aint no millionaire. i desperately wish i was. but thats ok, i got everything else i need including a beautiful man (who had knee surgery yesterday and is housebound, which is ok by me cuz im with him all the time :D), a loving family and an array of adorable friends.... ANYWAY, my point is that in these times of not being a millionaire i have to live a little on the cheap side. lucky for me there are sales EVERYWHERE and i'm in bargain heaven.

today i found these three brilliant rings from Diva for only $10!!!!!!!

i was superstoked because orginially they were all over $15 each! i managed to save about $40!! (quick hurry in while this offer still stands). they remind me on samantha wills jewellery which i am so in love with. her girly brasen oversize designs are just brilliant and make the most perfect statement! i have been hunting and watching on ebay for some of her pieces all week, particularly her empress ring. hopefully i will score!! otherwise today everything i bought seemed to be on sale. yep it's definately my favourite time of year!!

this is what i wore to the shops today while still floating within my understated minimalistic outlook on fashion

(cardi: thrifted. t-shirt: agent ninty nine. shorts: vintage cut off levi 501's. belt: vintage. necklace: mum's from 70's.)

i paired this outfit with my FAVOURITE pair of pixie ankle boots ever!

 (shoes: OFFICE)
i got these babies from OFFICE shoes when i worked there in london. i love them SOOO much that i bought two pairs. speaking of being cheap these ones are falling to bits and i recently got them resoled to try make them last longer. honestly the best shoes in the world (ok maybe not the WHOLE world)

that was my day in a nutshell. i hope you all had a day just as pleasant (but hopefully not as cheap) as mine

yellow.

(blazer: thrifted. top: vintage. necklace: thrifted. jeans: witchery)

it's quite often that i feel most comfortable and stylish in a minimalistic outfit constructed of basics and a dash of colour. this would definately explain my new found obsession with brilliant minimalistic label, Bassike. i dream and dream of owning a long sleeve grey contrasting shoulder Bassike dress. maybe when i pay my credit card off!! in this case a buttery sunshine yellow gauzy top took the cake as far as my splash of colour goes. i love yellow. i't absolutely brightens up my day! i'm desperate for a tiffany's yellow diamond! (too bad they are about $50,000). one day.. one day..
